Because this recipe uses already-made Crescent Roll dough it makes it a super easy churro cheesecake recipe! You can use crescent rolls or crescent sheets. If using the rolls, just be sure to press the dotted seams together to make a solid sheet.

What Is A Churro?

Actual churros is a fried dough that is originally from Portuguese and Spanish cuisine. It is made with what is called choux pastry dough.

It is cooked by piping the dough into hot oil using a piping bag. They normally use a large star tip on the bag to give it its signature look/shape.

While there are lots of different toppings used for this traditional Mexican dessert, the most common is when they coat the freshly cooked churro in cinnamon and sugar.

Ingredients Needed:

Cheesecake Filling:

  • ¼ cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • ¼ cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1 ½ Tbsp Flour
  • 1 Lime, Juiced
  • 2 Eggs
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract

Crust & Topping:

  • Nutella, warmed for drizzle (optional)
  • 2 Cans Crescent Rolls (press together seams of dough) or crescent dough sheets
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp Cinnamon

How To Make This Easy Churro Cheesecake Recipe:

Before starting, preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish with non-stick spray or the cooking spray of your choice.

In a small bowl add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well blended.

Evenly sprinkle half a cup of the sugar mixture into the bottom of the pan.

Lay one can layer of crescent roll dough on top of the cinnamon sugar mixture in the pan. Make sure the seams are pressed together. This will make up our bottom crust.

In a large mixing bowl blend all the cheesecake filling ingredients. Combine cream cheese mixture well until it is smooth and creamy. Just be sure the cream cheese is softened or allowed to come to room temperature. You will have the best results mixing that way.

Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the dough.

Lay the second can of crescent dough over the cream cheese layer. This will be our top crust.

Last step before baking is to spread the remaining sugar & cinnamon mixture evenly over the dough.

Then bake cheesecake for about 30-40 minutes until the middle is set.

When done remove from oven and allow to cool.

Finally, drizzle with warm Nutella before serving. Enjoy warm or chilled.
