Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is the best type of cheesecake pan to use for this no bake avocado cheesecake recipe without sour cream?

A. While you can use a push pan and spring form cheesecake pan has the best end result.

Q. Could this be made in a pie pan or a cake pan?

A. It could be if you have a deep one. Just know that you will not really be able to lift it out of the pan as a whole. You will have to cut and slice it from the pan.

Ingredient Questions:

Q. Can I use vanilla extract in place of the vanilla paste?

A. No. While the flavor would be the same, for best results the extract is not recommended for this recipe. That is because this is a no bake it tends to be a softer cheesecake than say a classic cheesecake recipe. So if you replaced the paste with a more liquidy option it would result in a more runny cheesecake.

Q. Could I make this crust with graham crackers instead?

A. Yes! If dates and pecans are not your thing, feel free to use graham cracker crumbs for a buttery graham cracker crust.

Q. Can I use a flavored cream cheese spread in place of packages of cream cheese?

A. Yes! Just be sure to use a flavor that will go well with avocado.

Q. Can I use cream cheese right from the fridge?

A. While you technically could, I find the best thing to do is allow it to soften by coming to room temperature first. That way it mixes better and you don’t get plane clumps of cream cheese. If you are in a hurry, you could also remove it from the packaging and pop it in the microwave for a few seconds so it becomes softened cream cheese. Just be really careful not to overheat it.

Q. Does the avocado have to be ripe?

A. While you could mix in one or so that is a little under ripe, it really works best to use ripe avocados for a good cheesecake. You can however also use ones that are a little overripe.

Storage Questions:

Q. How should I store this cheesecake?

A. This needs to be stored in the fridge. It should either be placed into an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap or aluminum foil before putting it in the fridge. You just want to be sure that not much air can get to it.
