Keto Orange Cheesecake Mousse

This Keto orange cheesecake mousse is such an easy dessert to make. Plus, if you are really not in the mood for orange it is easy to swap from another flavor. Simply use the sugar-free flavor gelatin of choice.

This recipe only makes about siz servings. So if you are needing it to feed more people, you may want to double it.

One thing to note about this recipe is when I say add gelatin, that means just the dry packet and not premade gelatin. If you add it premade it will not work the same.

While this recipe is made using heavy cream to make the whipped cream, there is a workaround if you are pressed for time. Simply leave out the whipped cream making step of the heavy cream and replace it with an 8 oz container of thawed whipped topping.

If you are looking for other Keto dessert recipes, here are a few to try.

How To Make This Recipe:

In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat heavy cream until it turns into whipped topping and set aside.

Add 1 packet of orange gelatin mix into boiling water and stir until fully dissolved.

In a large bowl or stand mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Then slowly add in the gelatin mixture and mix well.

After you have it all mixed, carefully stir in the whipped topping. Be sure not to overbeat it as you want the topping to stay airy.

Place in the fridge to chill for about twenty to thirty minutes before serving.

  • Now stir in the whipped cream. Be sure not to overbeat it as you want the topping to stay airy.

Notes

If pressed for time and don't wish you make your own whipped cream, you can replace the heavy cream with an 8 oz thawed container of whipped topping.

  1. How far ahead can you make this dessert? I want to serve it at book club but don’t want to disappear into the kitchen for too long. Will it hold its shape for a couple of hours?

      1. Is there anyway to use plain gelatin and add some sort of flavor to it? I don’t know if that’s a stupid question but I was kind of wondering if I could put crushed pineapple or mandarin oranges in the gelatin or if I would just use the juice from them? Or if none of them work at all lol

        1. No, I don’t think that would work. The flavored gelatin is also sweetened. So you would also have to add a sweetener, plus if using real fruit and juice it would raise the carb count.

    1. It depends on how large your serving is. If you divide this recipe into six servings it works out to be about 5 carbs per serving.

Delicious!! I made with sugar free strawberry gelatin and substituted cool whip for the heavy cream. I can’t wait to try another flavor!

    1. Happy you enjoyed it! The recipe does call for heavy cream but gives the option to use cool whip if you wanted.

    1. It will cool down slightly while you are beating the cream cheese. It does not need to be totally cooled before adding it in.

I have an idea for lowering the sodium in the recipe (it tasted a bit salty)! Instead of using flavored sugar free gelatin, substitute plain unflavored gelatin (no sodium), and use orange zest and orange flavoring.

    1. No, it would not thicken right and oranges are loaded with carbs so it would not work for a low carb/keto diet.
